It should be read alongside the applicable Course Profile and our full Terms & Conditions.

Instructor College UK provides training programmes for individuals preparing to qualify as Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs).
Our programmes are designed to support trainees through the DVSA qualification process. Qualification remains subject to satisfying the DVSA’s requirements and passing the necessary examinations.
2. YOUR TRAINING PROGRAMME
Our standard training programme is primarily an online educational programme.
Depending on the programme selected, your training may include:
- Structured online learning modules and educational videos.
- Coursework, assessments and progress reviews.
- Training-team feedback and educational support.
- Qualification guidance.
- Practical in-car training where expressly included or offered.
All required coursework and assessments must be completed to a satisfactory standard.
Practical training: Complimentary practical training may be offered under our standard programme where the training team considers it appropriate. Unless expressly included in your Course Profile, no particular amount of complimentary practical training is guaranteed.
Our Fast-Track Programme includes practical training as part of the purchased package. The practical training included will be described in the applicable Course Profile or enrolment confirmation.
3. COURSE DURATION AND ACCESS
Unless otherwise specified in your Course Profile, online training access is provided for 12 calendar months.
Access begins when your online programme is made available.
You are responsible for completing the required learning activities and maintaining reasonable progress.
Extensions may be considered where exceptional circumstances or DVSA delays materially affect your progress.
Any additional training access provided under our Qualification Money-Back Guarantee is governed by the guarantee conditions.
4. ENROLMENT AND CONTRACT FORMATION
When you submit your enrolment and payment, you are making an offer to purchase the selected training programme.
Instructor College UK will process your application and confirm acceptance by issuing your welcome email.
Your contract with Instructor College UK is formed when we issue your welcome email confirming your enrolment.
Your welcome email will include instructions for accessing your online training programme.
We aim to provide access within a few hours of enrolment and ordinarily no later than the following day.
If we are unable to accept your enrolment, any payment taken will be returned.
5. COURSE FEES AND PAYMENT PLANS
The total price of your selected training programme will be displayed before purchase.
Where a payment plan is available, the full price, initial payment, instalment amounts and payment dates will be confirmed before you enrol.
Payment by instalments is a method of paying the agreed course price. It is not a monthly subscription that can be cancelled simply by stopping payments.
Once a binding contract has been formed, the agreed payment obligations remain subject to your statutory cancellation rights and any other applicable contractual or legal remedies.
Additional costs may include DVSA examination fees, licensing fees, travel expenses and any separately agreed franchise payments.
6. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
Where you enrol online as a consumer, you will generally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period, subject to the rules and exceptions applicable to the particular supplies purchased.
For a qualifying service contract, this period normally begins the day after the contract is formed.
Starting your training during the cancellation period may affect the amount repayable if you subsequently cancel.
If you expressly request that training services begin during the cancellation period and then exercise a valid cancellation right, you may be required to pay a lawful proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation.
Where qualifying digital content is supplied immediately, the statutory cancellation right relating to that digital content may be lost once supply begins, provided all legally required consent, acknowledgement and confirmation conditions have been satisfied.
Because our programmes may combine digital content and training services, these rules do not necessarily apply in the same way to every element of the programme.
Simply accepting our Terms & Conditions or accessing your account does not automatically remove every statutory cancellation right.
To exercise an applicable cancellation right, you may notify Instructor College UK by emailing admin@instructorcollege.uk with a clear statement of your decision to cancel.
A model cancellation form will be made available.
Any payment due following a valid statutory cancellation will be returned within the timescale required by law.
Your statutory rights relating to services or digital content that do not conform to the contract remain unaffected.
7. DVSA REQUIREMENTS AND EXAMINATIONS
Trainees are responsible for satisfying the DVSA’s eligibility requirements.
These may include driving licence requirements, criminal record checks, examination eligibility, trainee licensing and professional registration.
Unless expressly included in the purchased package, DVSA examination fees and related charges are payable separately.
Instructor College provides training and guidance but cannot guarantee that the DVSA will approve an application, issue a trainee licence or award ADI registration.
8. COURSE GUARANTEES
Qualifying programmes may include three contractual guarantees.
These guarantees are subject to the eligibility requirements in Section 19 of our full Terms & Conditions.
Important: Participation in an approved full car-inclusive driving school franchise is a condition of the applicable guarantees. It is not compulsory simply to purchase or complete the core online training programme.
The franchise is a separate contractual arrangement involving additional obligations and fees. Material franchise terms and costs will be made available before you commit to the relevant guarantee.
A. ADI Qualification Money-Back Guarantee
Eligible trainees who complete the required training but do not pass their ADI Part 3 examination receive additional qualification support.
Before each Part 3 attempt, trainees must complete their prescribed training to a satisfactory standard and obtain written training-team approval.
Following an unsuccessful attempt, the training team will reasonably determine the additional training required, up to a maximum of 10 hours per unsuccessful attempt.
This may include instructor-led online sessions, practical in-car training or a combination of both.
If an eligible trainee exhausts their three permitted Part 3 attempts, their guarantee remains in place during any mandatory DVSA waiting period.
Once eligible to restart the qualification process, they receive a further 12 months of online programme access without another course fee.
If they complete the second qualification journey, exhaust their available Part 3 attempts again and satisfy the guarantee conditions, Instructor College will repay the original eligible training course fee.
Trainees are not required to maintain an active teaching franchise during periods when they are legally unable to teach.
The guarantee does not cover separately identified DVSA fees, franchise payments or other third-party charges.
B. £45,000 First-Year Earnings Opportunity Guarantee
Eligible instructors participating in an approved full car-inclusive franchise are guaranteed genuine pupil opportunities representing projected gross tuition income of £45,000 during their first 12 months of teaching.
The calculation is based on:
- 25 qualifying pupil allocations.
- An assumed 40 hours of tuition per pupil.
- An assumed tuition rate of £45 per hour.
This is an opportunity guarantee, not a guarantee that you will actually earn £45,000.
The guarantee is fulfilled when 25 genuine and suitable pupil opportunities have been allocated during the relevant 12-month period.
Individual pupils may require fewer lessons, pass their tests early or discontinue tuition.
To qualify, instructors must maintain genuine availability to provide driving tuition for at least 50 hours per week, including six hours on Saturdays, and accommodate reasonable pupil lesson requests.
This is an availability requirement, not an obligation to deliver 50 hours of tuition every week.
Reasonable illness, agreed leave and exceptional circumstances will be considered fairly.
Where fewer than 25 qualifying pupil opportunities are provided despite the instructor meeting the conditions, Instructor College will repay the original eligible training course fee.
The guarantee does not provide payment of any difference between actual tuition income and £45,000.
C. Guaranteed Instructor Position
Eligible trainees who pass ADI Part 2, complete the required training, obtain the necessary DVSA authorisation and enter an approved full car-inclusive franchise are guaranteed an instructor position with an approved partner driving school.
The guaranteed position lasts for 12 months from commencement, subject to the applicable licensing, professional and contractual requirements.
If the trainee qualifies as an ADI during that period, the guarantee continues for the remainder of the original 12 months.
The guarantee does not override DVSA licensing requirements.
9. FRANCHISE ARRANGEMENTS
An approved partner driving school franchise is a separate agreement from the Instructor College training contract.
A franchise may involve ongoing payments, vehicle provision, insurance arrangements, pupil allocation requirements and professional obligations.
The applicable franchise terms and fees will be explained before the trainee enters the agreement.
Failure to comply with material franchise obligations may affect eligibility for the relevant guarantees, subject to the fairness provisions in the Terms & Conditions.
An isolated late payment or unresolved complaint will not automatically invalidate a guarantee.
10. PRACTICAL TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS
Where practical training is provided, Instructor College will arrange an appropriate trainer and suitable location.
Local trainer availability cannot always be guaranteed.
Trainees may be required to travel to a reasonable alternative location and are ordinarily responsible for their own travel expenses.
For complimentary standard-programme training, at least 48 hours’ written notice is required when requesting cancellation or rescheduling.
For booked Fast-Track training blocks, at least 14 calendar days’ written notice is required before the beginning of the block.
Any consequences of late cancellation will be proportionate and subject to applicable consumer law.
11. COMPLAINTS AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT
If you have a concern about your training, please contact Instructor College UK at admin@instructorcollege.uk or telephone 0117 463 5542.
We will investigate complaints fairly and explain our findings and any proposed resolution.
Our full complaints and dispute resolution provisions are contained in the Terms & Conditions.
12. IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
Before enrolling, please review:
- This Pre-Contract Information.
- The applicable Course Profile.
- The Instructor College UK Terms & Conditions.
- The material terms of any separate franchise arrangement required for an advertised guarantee.
Your enrolment confirmation will identify the programme purchased and the applicable contractual arrangements.
13. CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Before submitting your enrolment, you will be asked to confirm that you have been given access to the relevant contractual information.
Where you wish to begin receiving digital content or training services during the statutory cancellation period, we will obtain any additional consent, request or acknowledgement required by law.
These acknowledgements do not remove statutory rights except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable legislation.
